X1. ABOUT SYNDICATION
The internet syndication model is similar to that found in newpapers, radio and television where a single column or broadcast is made available similtaneously through a multiple outlets.
Similarly, archiving web and newlog content in RSS format permits similtaneous republication of those contents through multiple accumulator and news reader services.
SK2.0 Syndication
The SK2.0 database manager generates an automated RSS compatible XML summary of user/subscribers' news and weblogs whenever the content is updated. The address of the user's RSS summary can be found in the Account Manager generated at registration.
This address can be submitted to a variety of accumulator and syndication service and to friends with desktop newsreader clients.
What is RSS?
RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML vocabulary for describing web site content. Originally created by Netscape to power its My Netscape portal service, RSS has since become the de facto standard for encoding and sharing dynamic web content.
Unlike the contents of a standard HTML (web) page, the contents of an RSS file are regular and predictable. This allows remote applications to provide sophisticated analysis and republication of web and newslog contents.
