This library subroutine preload() causes a client browser to request alternative application images (e.g. for a slideshow or rollover) from the server before they are first displayed in the page.

Preloading greatly smooths animation of rollover images, slideshows and other dynamic image replacement methods -- particularly for dialup users.

Note that instances of the image object created within Preload() are purely local, are not intended to and in fact cannot be accessed by other page scripts
