This is a page about building, paddling and exploring the wilderness in personal watercraft.

- Kayaks: Tony's preferred mode of transportation in the wild. From gentle rivers to foaming oceans, sea and touring kayaks are the way to go.
- Canoes: Chris's preferred mode of transportation in the wild. We smashed one once -- an 18' Olde Town -- like an egg in Class 5 rapids. This led to the construction of its elegant but near useless replacement and eventually Chris's gorgeous (and surprisingly durable) woodstrip Freedom 17.
- Boat Building: Building your own canoe or kayak provides a beautiful boat at a reasonable cost. More importantly, camping from your hand built boat is an unbeatable experience.
- Tripping: Camping from a canoe or kayak makes the journey as significant (and potentially pleasurable) as the destination. And some of the most scenic Natl Parks in the Mid-Atlantic encompass suprisingly accessible waterways.
- Paddlecraft: Taking some time to learn a little technique can seriously improve the paddling experience.
