What is RSS?
RSS (Rich Site Summary a/k/a Really Simple Syndication) is a standard XML vocabulary for summarizing web site content.
Originally created in 1998 by Netscape to power its My Netscape portal service, RSS has since become the de facto standard for encoding dynamic web content.
Today RSS is used to syndicate content from literally thousands of Web based resources: Online Newspapers; Libraries; Databases; Weblogs and more.
