(Daily Mi: 17.6) I need to buy a pack cover. To this point I have used my raincoat to cover my pack in brief storms as it has been too hot to hike with rain gear -- might as well get wet from the outside.

Now that isn't working. Need the raincoat for wind protection if nothing else. And while the trashbag liner I use to protect my pack contents has worked so far, the pack itself is soaked.

As are my feet which have developed a soft waterlogged layer and the closest thing to blisters I have experienced on the Trail to date.

Air my feet out at the shelter and apply bandaids to my toes when I change the dressing on my leg. Get to pull the stitches tomorrow!

Shelter is kind of crowded -- and it will rain tonight -- but Brother and I manage to be grumpy enough to chase off most of the weekend hikers who decide to pitch tents nearby.
