(Daily Mi: 16.8) Amusing day -- at least by Trail standards. Started with us preparing to torch up pizza boxes in open field just as the shelter maintainer appeared cursing: Stop that! Jesus.

Sweaty 1200' climb right out of the shelter and a .5 mile detour to a deli for lunch. Not so much hungry (although I did get a nice sub for dinner) as interested in their large selection of chilled and frozen products (95 degrees by 11 am today).

Walked off and on w/ Woodman and the Pipe and all hit the shelter as a solid group. Tired and dehydrated. Griped about how Feature-happy the NY maintainers are. Nice view of the valley by night. Good sandwich.

The Pipe finishes the Trail tomorrow!

No sign of the Apricot tonight. Guess he is either trying out his night hiking scheme or pulled up short after two fairly long days of AT hiking.
