(Daily Mi: 15.0) Fast hard slackpack with Crusader and the Chile Pepper. Chile is a strong hiker, but his feet are so screwed up he can only tolerate hiking sandals. Painful to watch on the open ridgeline.

Old Blue is a nice climb with a pretty Maine style open summit. Nice blueberries and bear scat up top.

We get back mid-afternoon and order a couple of pizzas. Run into Spyder and the Marine in town. They laugh seeing me and say they saw some of my dire registry entries just past Gorham.

Then at the hostel I find SOBO and the Apricot!

This has been nice but I am starting to put down roots when these guys show up.
