(Daily Mi: 5.7) Really quick hike into Monson. A little scaley around one pond, but otherwise a straight flat run which I love. Waited for Crusader at the trail head and we caught a hitch from a local woman to the Pie Lady's after a 5 minute wait.

There are two hostels (and a B&B) in Monson (a/k/a the last town before the 100 Mile Wilderness) The Pie Lady's and Shaw's Boarding House. Shaw's is the older establishment, but for some reason both Crusader and I decide we'd stay at the Pie Lady's place.

Drop our gear and walk into the center of town to stop by the P.O. and do laundry. Find the Monkies at the laudromat. Say they are staying at the Pie Lady's as well. Get our drop boxes at the P.O. and hike back to the Pie Lady's.

My father sent me a new camera so I can ditch the disposable I haven't been using it enough in any case. Also some really good dried salami and a pound of Textured Vegetable Protien (a/k/a TVP).

Have a crappy but huge fried lunch at the convenience store lunch counter.

Consume massive quantities of sports drinks.
